Christopher Bruno

Fractional CFO

Chris’ career journey encompasses a wide-range of functions and industries, as a full-time and part-time executive across general management, finance, and analytics, and most recently as a co-founder in two start-ups. Chris has extensive experience building business plans, creating financial models for planning and fundraising purposes, and nurturing and developing people’s careers. The myriad challenges that come with being a leader in today’s corporate world have made him realize the importance of doing all he can to support entrepreneurs and small business owners on their own journeys. 

Chris has taken the road less traveled, which for him meant building his own consulting practice, co-founding and funding two of his own start-ups, and now partnering with Carrie to accelerate the x2y Strategic Finance brand. Having the desire and courage to explore an alternative path was jarring at first, but Chris has pursued it in the hopes it can create a higher degree of overall satisfaction and integrate more seamlessly with who he is as a person.

Chris was born and raised on Long Island, NY and attended Boston College with a degree in accounting. He moved westward to Seattle with Carrie in 2005 and now has two tween-aged kids. He has fully experienced the cultural differences of East Coast and West Coast living and knows it has made him a more well-rounded human.

Carrie’s career journey encompasses a variety of sectors including retail, technology, manufacturing, and service businesses. She has extensive knowledge and experience with small business accounting, corporate accounting & reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and public company auditing.

Carrie focused on her accounting career for over a decade before she and Chris started a family together, and since then has spent the majority of her time raising their two children, while also serving on the board of her local public school, and supporting small businesses with their accounting needs. She is in the process of renewing her CPA license in the state of Washington.

Carrie was raised in Eugene, OR and received her BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington. She spend a few years living in New York City with Chris before she convinced him to try living on the West Coast, where they have been since 2005.
